Tulsa’s Largest Cobb Salad
Mimi’s Café and Zarrow International Elementary School teamed up to create Tulsa’s Largest Cobb Salad for Valentine’s Day in an event that was good for the heart. Students from Joseph Geilfuss’ first grade class wore hairnets and gloves as they learned about healthy eating while creating the salad which filled a small swimming pool.
Zarrow International is one of only two schools in the Tulsa metro area designated as a School for Healthy Lifestyles (SHL). The SHL program, developed in 1997, is designed to promote nutrition, fitness, injury prevention and tobacco prevention among children. This is Zarrow’s third year to participate in the program. Mimi’s Café has long stressed the importance of healthy eating among young children, providing healthy eating options on its kid’s menu. Participating students received Certificates of Achievement from Mimi’s Café.
