Flight
Attendant Sherry Vance Dies
5/27/1990 Sherry Lynn Tyler-Vance, flight attendant for
American Airlines, died Thursday in a Tulsa hospital of cancer.
She was 42.
Mrs. Vance was the wife of Tulsa policeman Kelly Vance, who directed
CrimeStoppers for several years. Services were Saturday in the
First United Methodist Church in Claremore.
Mrs. Vance was a 1965 graduate of Nathan Hale High School, where she
was active in the Girls Auxiliary, the Rainbows and the Girl Scouts.
She was also involved in the school's thespian group and the
Speaker's Bureau Club.
She
attended Oklahoma State University where she was runner-up
in the Miss OSU Pageant. She worked 20 years as a flight attendant,
and received the professional flight attendant award in 1986 and
1987.
In
addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, a daughter,
her brothers, Merle and Harlan Tyler, her sister, Karen Tyler,
mother
and stepfather, Doris and Monroe Sumter. |

Robert Steven LEHMER, 60, was born May 19, 1947 in Pittsburg, KS, to
Robert Leroy Lehmer and Alaine (Lucas) Lehmer. He died Thursday,
August 16, 2007 at his home in Pryor.
Steve
was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in
1965. |

He
served 4 years in the Air Force specializing in Photo Intelligence
before graduating from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor
of Arts in Education.
Steve
was an accomplished actor. He performed with his entire family at
the Tulsa Spotlight Theater. He appeared on the nationally
televised show Ted Mack & the Original Amateur Hour in 1968, winning
2 times. While performing with what was then known as the Tulsa
Little Theater, Steve played leading roles in Li'l Abner, West Side
Story, Carousel, and The Fantastiks. He was in Discoveryland's
production of Oklahoma for several seasons. He performed with Vicki
Lawrence in Hello, Dolly and has also performed with Bob Hope.

Steve loved acting and singing, but was most proud of his 2
children. He is survived by: a son, a daughter, 2
granddaughters, 2 sisters, 4 nephews, and his step father.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will
be held 2p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Will Rogers United
Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK.

Robert Allen "Bob" GREGORY, 60, of Tulsa, died Tuesday, June 19,
2007 in Sioux Falls, SD, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob
was born to Floyd and Margaret (Ellis) Gregory, on August 13, 1946,
they preceded him in death. He graduated from Nathan Hale High
School in 1965. |

Stationed at Chandler Air Force Base, MN, Bob met his wife, Patricia
Ruiter and they were married on September 13, 1968. Bob
worked in Chandler, for 29 years and was active in civic
organizations and in the Reformed Church.
Grateful for having shared his life are wife, two sons and a
daughter, 3 grandchildren, a brother, two sisters, and numerous
extended family and friends. He touched the lives of many people
with his great sense of humor and positive spirit and will be
greatly missed. |

Gary Desmond Benigar,
52, died Wednesday. Born and raised in Tulsa, he
graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1965 [and] received his
Master's degree at OSU in 1969.
He began his career with ONG,
coming to Claremore in 1988 as the manager of that office. He
married Hoytanna L. Rumsey on February 8, 1992. Survivors include
his wife, his mother, four sons and 10 grandchildren. His father,
Garland Benigar preceded him.

Janet Kay
Allen-Coleman, 53, a retired manager of Sabre, died Tuesday,
October 31, 2000 in Arlington, Texas after a courageous eleven year
battle with cancer. She is the daughter of Bill Allen and the
late Opal Allen. Janet
graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington. She held
several managerial positions within the information systems
departments |

including the
following companies: Sabre, MCI, The Associates, Citizens Telecom
and nine years with Lockheed.
She was a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church in Arlington for 27 years and recently of
Eastern Hills United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Janet enjoyed
traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with family.
The family would like to
extend their sincere thanks to Dr. George Blumenschein and the
entire staff at the Arlington Cancer Center, as well as a special
thanks to VITAS Hospice.
Survivors include her
husband of 34 years, George Coleman, a daughter, her father, a
brother and sister, a nephew, her mother-in-law and numerous
cousins. |

Rites set for retired police
officer,
Crime Stoppers pioneer Kelly Vance

CLAREMORE -- Kelly
Kenneth Vance, a retired police officer who pioneered the Tulsa
Police Department's Crime Stoppers program, died Tuesday. He was 59.
A memorial service
will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in
Claremore under the direction of Rice Funeral Home.
Vance was born May
31, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Robert and Imogene Vance. The family
moved to Dallas when he was young and moved again in the early 1960s
to Tulsa, where he graduated from Hale High School in 1965. He
played football for the University of Arkansas and later graduated
from Bartlesville Wesleyan College with a degree in human resource
management.
Vance joined the
Tulsa Police Department in 1970. During 22 years there, he received
two department commendations and the department's Lifesaving Award.
The commendations
were for serving on the department's Honor Guard and for pioneering
the Crime Stoppers program. He also organized the Oklahoma Crime
Stoppers Association.
Vance also was
instrumental in helping form the Police Department's Mounted Patrol
Unit, for which he was a unit supervisor.
After retiring from
the Tulsa Police Department, Vance was an undersheriff in the Rogers
County Sheriff's Office and later was a criminal justice consultant
for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
He had been a
scoutmaster and district commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America and
had been honored with the Scouts' Silver Beaver Award. Vance also was
a member of Leadership Claremore.
His first wife,
Sherry Vance, died in 1990. He married Debbie Vance in 1996.
In addition to his
wife, Vance is survived by five children, a sister, two brothers, and
six grandchildren.
Friends are making
memorial contributions to the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts
of America. |

Henry Lahmeyer, 58 years, business owner of Lahmeyer Kart Shop, in
business for 34 years, avid fisherman and bowler, was taken from his
beloved family due to illness. Loving husband, father, and
grandfather, he will be missed by all. Surviving are his wife, a son and
daughter, 3 grandsons, a granddaughter, his parents, 7 sisters and 1
brother. Interment will be at Tulsa's Rose Hill Cemetery. |
